I'm Back

The masses getting ready for the start of Wizard World Philadelphia.

Well, I really haven't gone anywhere but it has been a while since my last blog entry. Things have been quite busy and unfortunately I just haven't had the time to put thoughts to keyboard for the blog. As some of you may know, I'm a school teacher in Toronto, so the last little while was filled with lesson plans, year-end festivities and report cards. During that time I also exhibited at Wizard World Philadelphia, wrote reviews and updated the site for Comix Asylum and published our most recent issue of Comix Asylum Magazine. Add in family life and there wasn't much time to get to the blog.

Wizard Con in Philadelphia was my first U.S. convention as an independent publisher and creator. It was an awesome experience and I really enjoyed meeting new fans and introducing them to Miles and Derrick and the world of Chronokari Alpha. Wizard's Philadelphia show was very organized and well run. I'm really looking forward to going back next year.

To recharge my batteries I recently went on a writing retreat. I would recommend any writer or creative person to do this at least once for a couple of days if you're able. The time away from everyday life can really get your creative juices flowing. The writing retreat was very productive and has me all set for Wizard World Columbus at the end of the month.

Speaking of Columbus, in my next blog entry I'll cover what I've learned about exhibiting and some of the do's and don'ts to ensure a successful convention experience. Until then enjoy the summer weather and I'll see you in seven or less.
