Toronto ComiCon Here I Come!

March Break is here and so is the Toronto ComicCon. The con runs from March 20th to the 22nd and will feature stars from TV and film, comic book artists, vendors and plenty of coplayers and fans. This con will be a special one for me as it’ll be the first one where I’m attending as an artist on my own. I’m pretty excited and can’t wait to get into the Metro Toronto Convention Centre to set up my table, meet the fans and to catch up with my fellow creators.

I’ve had the opportunity to be at tables in Artist Alley before but I’ve usually shared a table with another artist or as part of a larger group. This time I’ll be there under my own company, Boeboe Creative, and will have paperback copies of Chronokari Alpha: Time is Relative there. It’ll be a complete roll out of what Boeboe Creative publishes, as I’ll also be promoting Comix Asylum Magazine as well as Edge: East Wind in Paradise.

Getting ready for this con has been eye opening and I have to thank my good friend Hugh Rookwood, the artist and co-creator of Apocalypse4, for showing me the ropes. Hugh’s advice and suggestions have been invaluable. He’s the one who encouraged me to get a table in Artist Alley to showcase my books as well as my artwork. Following his lead, I’ve produced pinups of the images in Chronokari Alpha: Time is Relative as well as others featuring some of the most popular characters in comics.

A special package was dropped off at my door last week when my order of Chronokari Alpha: Time is Relative arrived. I am quite pleased with the final product from Createspace and it appears that all of the hard work has paid off. I’m also quite happy with the pinups that I’m bringing to the show. A huge thank you goes out to my friends across the Atlantic, the super talented Nikos Koutsis and Mike Toris, for the wonderful coloring job they did on them. I can’t wait to pick them up from the printers.

Well that’s it for now. I have a few blank covers to finish for the convention and have to get ready for a podcast at Big B Comics in Hamilton tonight. It’ll be a lot of fun talking comics with Walt and his crew. Until next time, stay safe and hopefully I’ll see some of you at the convention this weekend.
